Hail, Okeanos, Lord of all the Waters!
The great world-girdling sea is yours,
And the lakes, rivers and streams, those are yours as well,
And yours, too, are the pools and fountains;
Wedded are you to fruitful Tethys of the winged brow, the queen of rain-clouds.
Nourishing waters you distribute across the earth,
And the celestial bodies which rise from and set into your waters,
Those are yours to regulate, O Okeanos.
You did not join in the overthrow of your father Ouranos,
Nor did you take up arms against the gods of Olympus;
From you have risen the seed of all the immortals.
